History
West Warren Park was originally 4 acres of land donated to the community by the Samuel and Robina Knight family in 1915. The deed was held by the West Warren Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the early years, there was a ball field, rodeo arena, and a pavilion.
In the late 1970s, a pheasant unit was formed and the funds were used to help maintain the park. In 1994, a Weber County special tax district was created and the land was donated to the district.
During the 1990s, a combination bathroom, pump house, and maintenance building was built. Funds to build the building were mostly done by donated labor and materials. An additional 2.5 acres was purchased to the south of the original property. Playground equipment was installed on the new property.
In 2007, a multiple-use indoor/outdoor pavilion was built. Funds for the facility came from park tax revenue, RAMP grant funds, and a lot of donated labor from community members.
In 2022, a sports court was built including pickleball and basketball courts. Funding for the courts came from park tax revenue and RAMP grant funds.
Many improvements have been added over the years. Many Eagle Scout projects and donated labor and materials have been done to improve the park.
Over the years, many community events have taken place at the park. A community celebration known as West Warren Days, or Mosquito Days, have taken place. A Halloween and Easter celebrations have also become traditions.
